History of Mediterranean Revival

Mediterranean Revival was first introduced in the 20s and 30s by Architects Addison Mizner and August Gieger, and the New Mediterannean Home is a New Design Studios concept of this much-revered style of architecture, that is prevalent along coastal Florida and California,  as seen in the vintage home above that was photographed while spending time in the traditional and classic neighborhoods of Florida's Gold Coast.

The New Mediterranean Home is shown on the "Featured Mediterranean Revival" page and seeks to reflect this timeless grace and style that it incorporates.

Another characteristic of the Mediterranean Revival home is the lush landscaped grounds that are often secured behind a beautiful wall with iron gates.

The groin ceiling is one of many beautiful ceiling designs that you see in Mediteranean Revival architecture, and each main room has a special focus on the ceiling design.
